PLPL Champions League – Quarter Final Round-Up
It was a dramatic night in the PLPL Champions League quarter-finals, with big swings across the ties and a couple of dominant aggregate performances shaping the semi-final picture.
Ian Lewis produced the standout display , seeing off 2024-25 Champions League winner Mark Southwell with a 50–20 win on the night and a commanding 70–40 aggregate victory a tie that was effectively settled with ruthless efficiency across both legs.
Tim Fallon edged the tie of the round against Gav Sanderson, taking the second leg 60–50 to secure an 80–70 aggregate win. A strong showing across both fixtures proved the difference in what was one of the more competitive matchups of the round.
Dave Woodruff delivered one of the most emphatic results, brushing aside 2020-21 Champions League winner Joyce B 50–10 on the night to seal a dominant 90–50 aggregate victory. It was a clinical performance that underlined his debut champions league campaign.
Despite a level 20–20 score in the second leg, Martin Fenner’s earlier work ensured safe passage, progressing with a comfortable 70–30 aggregate win over Madeline Mills, a tie where control was established early in the first leg.
